My Mom's original birth certificate did not have her name on it. (However, she did get a checkmark for 'is legitimate'.) Looks like this probably wasn't a problem until she tried to get married when she applied for and got an amended birth certificate.

I now have about 5 official looking documents proving that my Dad is out of the Army. Hope someone needs me to prove it someday.

Mom had my original Social Security card! It's my signature in my signature brown ink (I went through a phase of never using anything but a fountain pen with brown ink for years).

I found the notes from my Mom's sitters - particularly her last two weeks - you can tell she was declining... but the morning of the afternoon she went to the hospital, there's a note "pt [patient] finally showing improvement in breathing" - guess that was just hopeful noting there on behalf of Mary (the sitter).

Now everything is sorted and most of it trashed and some of it stashed and I have a tiny pile of stuff to follow up on tomorrow.

No big uglies, no big surprises, no big questions. Glad that's done.
