I didn't win the lottery
Jan. 4th, 2004 08:55 amI never buy lottery tickets. I'm generally confused by the whole thing. (I do get the win part ... it's the ticket buying - number picking - results checking part that is over my head.) But last night I picked a book off my shelf to read. It was one I bought used from either Half.Com or Amazon. I was several pages into it when a piece of paper fluttered out.
It was a lottery ticket - New Jersey, September 5, 2003. I went to their web page to see how much I had won and even that was complicated. But, I'm pretty sure I didn't win the lottery but the book is pretty good so far.
No walk this morning. It's 27 degrees and while it looks fairly dry from here, I can see puddles or little frozen mini-ponds so I'm not taking chances. At least I got in a couple of walks already this week thanks to the holidays.
TV starts again this week - whew. I've had about all the Food Network, HGTV and reruns I can handle.
They are already saying that the snow predicted for tomorrow will likely close schools and businesses on Tuesday. I'll believe it when I see the whites of their flakes.
