We get letters
Jul. 4th, 2006 11:25 amWhile I was still in college, when my friends started getting married, I started making afghans for wedding presents. One of my friends swore she got married just so she could get one of these afghans. They are pretty. When I made the last one, I documented it on my website.
I've gotten a fair number of emails since then asking for the source of the pattern. Problem is, I'm pretty sure I got it off the back of the band around a skein of yarn more than 30 years ago! This morning I got yet another request so I just decided to do it up right. I scanned in the original, added my notes and a picture and an apology for pattern theft and PDF'd it. The instructions for my wedding afghan.
Next it's puzzle time. These days I get more mail about the puzzles than I do the knitting. Puzzle people are a little fanatical. But very nice. I got a sweet note from someone yesterday thanking me for all the puzzles and gently asking if it wasn't time for some new ones. She was right. I slapped up some for her right then, but I have a fair number of pictures waiting to be puzzled and I think I'll puzzle them up and add them right now.

and, yeah, the snow on this mailbox is the very epitome of wishful thinking
