Frustration
Jul. 6th, 2006 05:39 pmI made an error on Monday that caused the website of one of my clients to disappear off the face of the earth today. I'm still not sure why and am trying to find out. It is clear that something I did caused the error. My boss is very not happy. The client is very understanding. In former days I would have beat the crap out of me for it. But, I'm just not up for it today.
I'm sorry it happened. I'm sorry I didn't know that it would so I could prevent it. I'm sorry that I'm still not sure how to prevent its happening again. I really am sorry. But, that's it. It happened. I did have backups (for which I'm enormously proud as backups are not at all automatic and take extra steps which I took) and I did get the thing back up again.
If da boss wants to fire me, he can. I'm tired. And hungry. And I'm taking tomorrow off. I'm going to Walmart and Ikea and I'm going to have lunch with my friend, Susan.
