susandennisI finally - four days later - heard from the whacked out folks at http://www.knitpicks.com/. They assured me that their fucked up registration/buying process RARELY had the problem that happened to me on Sunday. Ok, the fact that they even acknowledge that it has happened before is not good....
They told me to use a different name and different telephone number to register for my next purchase. Yeah, right, like I'm EVER going to buy anything from them again.
Then they told me that my order had, indeed, been placed in this other woman's account and was being shipped out today! But that she cannot see my credit card information. Could they be any more fucked up?? Oh yeah.
The email ended with their 800 number. So I quickly called to cancel the order. I waited on hold for a fairly long time and finally a woman answered. I said that I would like to cancel an order please. And she said "oh. What company are you calling?" ??!!!!!
She did find the order and assured me that I could not cancel it. I asked "If I refused the order will the charges on my credit card be reversed or credited?"
She said - and I shit you not:
"Well, of course, not the shipping charges, but probably you'll get your other money back."
PROBABLY??!!!!!
