I'm still wandering around the maze that my insurance company calls an online pharmacy. I talked to yet another uninformed customer service rep who had new but equally stupid answers. Lordonlyknows what, if anything, I'll ever get from them. Thankgod it's only toothpaste and I have plenty on hand.

Yesterday when I called the automated message told me that their automated phone system would call me unless I specifically opted out. If I wanted to opt out, to tell the customer service rep. So that's the very first thing I did. He said that it would take 7 days to get me out of their automated phone system. Then, while gathering other information later in the call, he asked me for my phone number. I politely refused to give it to him.

When I asked today's Clueless Clerk, when I will receive information about how to fill my prescription, she cheerily replied 'Oh, we'll call you!' Yeah, right. I did double check my 'profile' on their website. No phone number. What an outfit.

My new Lifebook computer has not shipped yet, BUT the other bits have!! Yesterday they showed as shipping on Thursday and today they show 'shipped!' That's the spare A/C cord and the external harddrive. The computer is still showing that it will ship on Thursday!

There are several like my old one selling on Ebay for $400+/- now and selling briskly - lots of bids. So I guess that's what I'll do with it. I got the photos ready yesterday.

In other news... Betty has taken to sleeping with me. She's not a terribly good cuddler but she does ok. I have to let her do it her way. Last night I got up to pee and when I came back I found her splayed out on her back taking up as much room as she could diagonally across the very middle of the bed. It made me laugh out loud and I woke her up but did she move? Fuck no. Ya gotta love cats.

J&R finally got the Kone - the cool purple sculpture hand vac - in stock and I ordered another one for the Fish Room. I love this thing. It is so handy to use that I do use it a lot.

And I got email from Scott that he and Julie will be arriving in NYC from New Zealand next Monday and will then be here the following Tuesday evening (the 26th). He asked me if I could pick them up at the airport and I said that it was such a hassle - which it is - that I'd really rather they take a cab. It's not very hospitable but I didn't think negotiating my way to the airport late at night, and finding parking and trying to find them with probably their flight being late and then maneuvering them into the car and back here was just more than I was willing to do.

A couple of weeks ago when I met my friend, Susan, for lunch she brought her daughter (grown), Christine. The Ride The Ducks boat/bus went by and Christine and I both allowed as how we'd never done that and would love to. (Susan could have cared less.) So we decided we'd just do it one day soon. When I got the confirmation from Scott, I decided that 'one day soon' was going to be Wednesday, the 27th. So I sent Christine an email asking if she wanted to come with me and Scott and Julie and I got a very fast 'count me in!'

So I called an bought four tickets yesterday for the 3 p.m. tour. It should be great fun and I'll finally get to do the duck!

I have a phone meeting at 11 and then two meetings at Redmond at 2:30 and 3.
