I've lost my ebb...
Sep. 21st, 2006 12:14 pmIt seems like yesterday that I as bored to tears with no work today. Now I am stuffed to the gills with more work that I can shake a stick at. I don't even have time for this entry. But, I decided this morning that I was going to 1. make time for lunch today and 2. take a break here and there. At least one and this is probably it.
I did have a good talk with my boss today. I've had this job for nearly a year now. Wow. He is one of the most frustrating human beings. He's always saying he's going to do stuff and then not doing it. He sent me an email on Monday saying he wanted to catch up. I replied immediately that I'd be around all day and he should call when it was convenient for him. He never called. Tuesday morning he sent a note that they day had gotten away from him. I replied right away that it was ok that I'd be here all day and he should call when it was convenient for him. He never called.
Honestly, I didn't know what he wanted. Initially I figured he wanted to fire me or put me on notice or something but by this morning I figured that it that had been the case, he would have called. Finally his office manager (who sits next to him) asked me a question this morning that I couldn't answer because he hadn't told me and hadn't called and I told her that and he called.
He doesn't want to fire me. This always happens. He promises and then doesn't deliver or he says he'll review something with you and he doesn't BUT when you do finally talk or he does finally review something, he makes everything better in an instant. He makes you feel like anything and everything is reasonable and possible and doable and I can do it and he's there to help and all is good.
He can be so frustrating but he makes up for it in spades every single time.
It is chilly and rainy here today and the annual Microsoft Company (all employee) meeting is being held at Safeco Field today. Safeco is the Mariner staidum. It has a roof but it is not enclosed. I'll betcha there are some pretty uncomfortable Microsofties over there today.
Ok back to work for me. I am sure glad I made arrangements to not be work available for the days that Scott and Julie are here next week. Whew.
