The car has brand new oil and the check engine light is off. He checked and echo'd what [livejournal.com profile] jimcarson said - it's probably a gas cap thing. He said if it came back on again to bring it back in. My car guy is just the nicest guy in the entire world. And he's funny. He said the guys in the back want to know if I'm trying to stretch it out so that the 10,000 miles would hit in the 10th year. He's given up telling me to drive it more.

Then on to the post office to mail off the eBay package. They buyer wanted it as fast as possible and agreed to pay the difference so I sent it so that it gets to New Jersey by 3 p.m. tomorrow.

Last month I bought this fancy new desk chair. The woman at the place where I bought it showed me how to work all the levers but, of course, I forgot. I finally called back there last week and got the name of the manufacturer. They have a lovely website with a java script function that shows you how to operate the chair. Only I can't operate their java script - in IE or in Firefox. So I sent an email. While I was out this morning, I got a call from their rep who sells the chair I have. He left a message. When I got home, I called him back and got his voicemail. Telephone tag is better than no response at all.

And I called the doctor. I told Marcie, her assistant, that I needed a different medicine or I was going to take up smoking again. She thought the different medicine was probably the preferable solution. She asked if it could wait until tomorrow since the doctor was out today. She offered to page the doctor which I thought was very nice of her but I told her I could wait. I should hear tomorrow.

Oh and my condo association just passed a new rule about stuff on our terraces. Among the vague list of new terrace rules is that we are not to use our terraces for storage. As usual, the natives immediately drew fire. I don't want to get into the battle but I do use my terrace for storage - I have two big cupboards covered with drapes. The building manager was in his office when I came back today so I stopped and asked him. He said that he was pretty sure I was not breaking any of the new vague rules BUT he said that there was no way they were going to enforce (read big $ fine) or make anyone get rid of stuff until after everything had been inspected (sometime this week) and a detailed report presented to the board. His inside guess is that this is the beginning of a battle that will last a couple of years. Whew.

And that's been my day so far and it's not yet 10 a.m!!

So far work has been quiet. I got everything - even the stuff that's not due for a couple of weeks - done this weekend. I am so caught up.

Maybe I'll start on my Julie/Scott prep work. First up: clean toilets.

Maybe I'll check my friends page first.
