susandennisOn the bottom of every email I send (original or reply or forward) for work is my name, telephone numbers (land and cell) and my work IM. If you get a note from me, there should be no confusion about how to get a hold of me.
If you send me an email at 10:30 that says 'call me at 11' you suppose you could include YOUR FUCKING TELEPHONE NUMBER?!

I got a call today on my cellphone. The woman (not young) had the thickest, strongest Texas accent I have ever heard. She said she was from someone's smoked turkey company and needed confirmation of my address. She was adorable. She had the right street (but not the unit number) and the right town but had the state as Texas and the zip code as 78104 (mine is 98104).
She had the kind of accent that tells you exactly what her facial expression is with every sentence:
Me: So is someone sending me a turkey?
Her: Yeeesss (sly grin) for Christmas
Me: Any chance you would tell me who?
Her: Ohhhh I don't know if I should... (worried)
Me: What about if I promise cross my heart to never ever tell?
Her: Well, if you promise (sly)
Me: I do!
Her: (almost whispering) The card says Love, Bill and Trey
Me: Ohhhh thank you. Now I have two surprises your call and the turkey thank you so much.
It was a fun call and how sweet of my brother and his wife. We have not exchanged gifts in about 20 years (and in two wives - uno and duo). But, I'm so glad I know because now I have time to surprise them.
With what? They are hoping to move into their new house (that they are building) at the end of November. I hate gift certificates. I do have one very sweet and nice florist that I've dealt with there in Georgetown. But otherwise no contacts. I need to think. Trey is nearly the opposite of me. She loves lacy, romantic, cottage-y things. She is sweet and kind and loves people. I'm at a loss. Ideas and suggestions welcome.
