nuts and berries
Jan. 19th, 2004 10:42 amOne of our inside sales people (one of the twinkies, actually) is just back today from maternity leave. She just came to ask Kenny for an extension cord. He doesn't have one. He's trying to figure out why she might need one and if he can help her without one. It's like watching a wreck before it happens.
I know she probably needs one for her breast pump. If she tells him that or even hints at it, he will die of embarrassment and I'm not using that as a turn of phrase. You will see it on the headline news: Chinese IT Guy Perrishes from Embarrassment.

The guy who handles investments for me is coming tomorrow. I getting my ducks in a row and my questions lined up, it occurred to me that I should probably contact IBM and make sure they still know where I live and are still planning to send me that little bit of retirement money they promised. I dug out my old employee number and looked up a phone number online. This morning I called it and got the benefits phone number plus the info that they were closed for the holiday. But, it's on my list now.

I checked about my contact lenses. And, yes, they will pay for another year's worth if I buy them between February 1 and February 6. That's very nice.

I told Kenny I was leaving. He's not happy. Bless his heart.

Mom is making me a little crazy today. She's pushing my buttons and I'm letting her - via email for cryingoutloud.

Date: 2004-01-19 01:12 pm (UTC)I remember I had to council a 65 year old woman that reported to me about body odor. I was 22 at the time - and more than a little green.
I asked her is she was aware of the BO issue.
"Yeah," she replied. "I have a yeast infection."
She resolved the problem - thank god! but I would never have broached the subject again, even if she hadn't.

(Of course, if he doesn't behave himself, I may just have to tell him that Elaine is pumping her breast in the ladies room right now. He probably would not recover.)
