American Express Card has a deal where you can get weekly emails with your balance which is how I even caught the fraud problem in the first place.  Very handy.

The health insurance lady put me on hold to investigate and was back before I could even get up and get more coffee.  She said that they had mis-dated the claim and so it had been filed incorrectly.  I knew there was a problem because 1. I hadn't gotten the money but 2.  I can see all my claims on line and it wasn't there.   She apologized about a bazillion times and said I should see the money in about 7 days and the on line claim will be fixed by tomorrow.

Then I got an email from the agency who handles my car and house insurance.  I realized this weekend that I should have gotten a bill for my car insurance and hadn't.  I sent her an email and before 9, she's sending me a note saying that I'm nearly a month early and my bill should be here in the next week or so.

Please please please do not ever send me back to the 'good old days'.  I so do not want to live in a world without the internet, TiVo, my two drawer dishwasher, and, most importantly, my entire 'office' which is all 6 pounds of my laptop.  I am so very grateful to have all of this and live in a world where it all is coming together. Yeah there is bad stuff but there is so much more good stuff.

50 years from now or even 20, I'm sure it will be even better but how cool is it to have been born when a black and white TV was the bomb and then watch over the ensuing 57 years all the changes until now when my life is sooo much easier and richer and less stressful because of all of these great technologies.  Very cool.
