susandennisWell, the replacement check was in today's mail! Even with all the trials and tribulations with its predecessor, I could not bring myself to drive all the way to Redmond (where the credit union is). So I called and asked if there wasn't somewhere closer I could go...
And, turns out, we're friends with a little credit union network. And one of our friends is in the building that houses the city offices which is not so very far from here. So Off I Went. It's only 4 blocks up and 5 blocks over but several of those suckers are ski slope steep hills. I made it, however, and found a nice lady who took my check and typed stuff in a computer and used three different stamps and printed out something and looked at my drivers license and wrote something down and used two more stamps and, bang! We were done!
It has been many many moons since I actually did a banking transaction in person. I did a drive through a few years ago but that was as close as I've come. There's a lotta stuff that goes on. Wow. It's exhausting to watch.
But, now I have a piece of paper with the deposit on it and I can see it online and whew.
PLUS... plus... plus... Since this is the week that February starts in... I'm counting today's hill climb as February's exercise! I'm so proud. At this rate I could die from OutOfShapeItis about 2 months later than originally planned!
