Condo life in the summer
Jun. 1st, 2007 02:02 pmI have sliding glass doors out to my patio/terrace and that is it for external to the outside exposure. So the only way to get cross ventilation is to leave the front door (to the hallway) open. This provides all kinds of amusements.
Just now, I'm sitting at the desk - no view to the front door - and my neighbor, Ann, who lives down the hall hollers in:
"Hey, Susan! Has the mail come yet?"
"Haven't seen him yet!"
"Ok, thanks!"
The end.
She knows I monitor the front door and can see Lee, the mail man, when he comes in and leaves so I know when the mail comes. Yeah, she could watch, too, but why should she when she knows I'm on duty!
Scott, the manager, was just here. He's checking everyone's deck for violations. You can get a violation for having an impure thought according to the list they put out. It remains to see what they will enforce. One thing that I'm sure they will is wall penetration. I have drapery rods out there and they are stuck tight but with a combo of tension of the rods themselves and silicon glue. No penetration. I think I passed inspection. They keep talking about resurfacing the terraces. Scott says it will be soon. The last building manager said it would be soon, too. Mine is fine and I'm not wild about messing with work people for something like that but as Jim Carson says I say what.ever
I did get the air conditioner out and I set it up and it's fridgeratin' me right now. Heaven. I plant to crank it up to Ice Cold tomorrow morning before I go out for my walk. I so heart my air conditioner.
Lee's coming by when she gets off work and we are off to dinner at a Hawaiian place she and Sherry found not long ago. Should be fun.
