I love my brother
Jun. 6th, 2007 05:46 pmMy baby brother has a Friendly Computer franchise. He's had it a couple of years now but still feels, most of the time, like he's trying to get it figured out. He built my computer for me, plus he's just generally good in a crisis.
Today I had a crisis. I went to reboot and hit the wrong thing. Whatever I hit made both screens go black and I could not wake them up. So, I figured I'd just push the button in and reboot the hard way. I reached around and pushed in the on/off button. And it stuck in the end position. Totally stuck. I couldn't get it unstuck. At all.
So I called my brother. We rarely talk on the phone so when he saw my caller ID he was surprised but ready when I told him 'I have a situation'. When I told him what happened he said 'shit! That shouldn't happen.' Not what I was looking to hear. This case is a great case. I love it for many reasons and he got it from a vendor that he's nuts about. He said he had one just like it so he pressed the button in on his and it did the same thing! We went from 'shit' to 'fuck' really fast.
Anyway, long story even longer, he reached his hand in and pushed his button out and then it worked fine. One of the great things about this case is that the side panel is a breeze to get on and off. So I took mine off and pushed mine out and Bang! Fixed!! Whew.
He said he'd call Iris (his case lady) and see what the deal is. But, I was fixed and happy. And so glad my baby brother decided to make his third career (Navy and then corporate IT support) computers. We had a nice chat as a plus so the whole thing turned into a happy thing.
