What a treat!
Jun. 7th, 2007 07:19 pmThis afternoon got a little frustrating work wise and I was feeling the stress but plowing on through when the cellphone rang. It was my neighbor Lee. Sherry flew out to Spokane this afternoon. Her Dad's stroke has now caused other complications and the family is gathering to help out her Mom. Lee had dropped Sherry off at the airport and wanted to know if I was interested in going to the Hawaiian place - the other choice from a week or so ago.
I told her that her timing could not have been more perfect. It was just exactly the break I needed!! She picked me up and off we went. The Hawaiian place was adorable. A real hole in the wall with the nicest people you ever want to meet. And the most amazingly yummy food. We had crispy ginger chicken and pork adobo and the best friend rice I have ever had and trimmings. We ate until we could not move. I even ordered four scoops of the fried rice to go (it's going to be delicious for dinner tomorrow). Our bill came to $20. Amazing.
Then we did another little driving tour! This time Beacon Hill which is where I go to the library and the grocery store a lot but I'd never been to the part of Beacon Hill where her Mom lives so we drove through and even stopped in to say hi to her cute little Mom.
It was a wonderful lovely enjoyable evening.
PLUS! When I got home I had an email that one of my bosses other employees has agreed to take on the project that I hate the most and she's so glad to have it! Whew. And nothing fell apart while I was out.
Oh and the Mariners have the night off so they won't lose.
I am so counting my lucky stars tonight!
