Walking on Monday morning is sure different than the weekends or even Fridays. Way too many people and they are all so frenetic. Wow. I'm going to have to get creative on my routes on weekdays. It is noticeably lighter out much earlier these days. I no longer have to wait until 8:30. I don't mind walking in the dark so much but the cellphone cam doesn't work too well in the dark.

When I got up this morning, I checked on the house they were stitching together last night and it was gone! Along with the other half and third of houses out there! These are like mobile homes but half and thirds of double and triple wides. That must have been interesting to see them move that triple wide down the street.

[livejournal.com profile] tabbarama left a comment on my entry yesterday allowing as how afghan was an interesting word and, indeed it is. Somehow to me a knitted (or crocheted) blanket has always been an afghan. Even before I knew where the country was and certainly before it became the country it is today. But another afghan-ism popped up several years ago with a friend of mine from New Zealand... I sent him an email about knitting an afghan and that sent him into a spin... Seems that to Kiwis, afghans are a cookie and have nothing to do with blankets or knitting.

Now... somebody needs to get into the shower...

To me they were coats and dogs. I went looking for pictures and found that the US keeps the dogs short coated, like some poodles, the UK keeps them long haired, as long as it grows.

I wonder how the coat got its name

Britain and America, two countries separated by a common language. In Britain a torch is a flashlight.

It's odd that people are buying coats in 2004 that a few hippies wore in the early 1970s. At least it's unlikely the fur is real, unless they have been hunting 1970s hippies anyway.
