Another whew day

My boss called today to check in.  He asked me how I was doing and I told him that I learned last year that June was going to be madness and July is partial madness and then everything gets back to normal.  I told him that unlike last year, I'm fairly confident that the end of July will get here and I'm ok with riding out the wave.  He laughed appreciatively.  He also told me that my favorite project will continue in the new FY and with even more work.  This is the one with the project manager I love and the customers who are mostly very appreciative.

And he had other good stuff to chat about.  I needed that.  But, it was a whew day anyway.  Mostly because at noon the entire publishing system went offline in a scheduled outage.  It will be down until tomorrow.  Kind of enforced break but more a chance to get caught up on other stuff.  And I did kind of. 

Then I remembered that the Race for the Cure is here tomorrow and it will be at least noon and maybe later before I will be able to get my car out to make the grocery run I had planned on.  So I just did it this afternoon.

Plus Sherry, my good neighbor, brought up Jake Memorial Brownies!!  She knows I love brownies.  So I had to go get ice cream to go with the brownies!

She also took the time to give Betty some high quality lovin'. 

Oh and she told me that one of her patients gave her a Zune.  She's a dental hygienist.  I told her that I give my dental hygienist a double gift - I don't come near her and this so I give her the opportunity to live a long and happy life.

Baseball game is getting ready to start and Betty says it's dinner time.
