Part of my entry earlier today got me thinking about my husband. Poor guy. Being married to me must have been such a punishment. We married when I was 30 and he was 52. I'll save you the math. This year he's 79. I'm assuming he's still alive. Google never heard of him. The newspaper he wrote for for years and years in the town where he still lives (in the house we bought) has not yet run his obit.
He had five children. The middle son who was 17 at the time, had a relatively unusual (very googlable) name. So I gave him a run tonight. The kid joined the Army in the early 80's and then tried to re-up after a couple of years and they wouldn't have him. So he decided to be a cook. Sure enough, tonight's google brought up a couple of links mentioning him a chef. Interestingly, there were several mentions in 2000. One referenced a 2 year stint with a particular restaurant. But, otherwise, as far as Google is concerned, there is no sign of him before 2000 or after 2002.
Well, that was an interesting little trip, but I'm home now and the Mariners are tied at 9 (er, that's actually 0 - thanks
rsc) in the 4th and I have a teddy bear who is ready for ears!!
