One ringy dingy
Feb. 10th, 2004 09:35 amSo my phone rings which it never ever does. It's my friend, Fran, who has invited me over to lunch today. She sent a note last night to make sure we were still on and I responded that yes, we sure were. But, on the phone she says that her computer has died.
Me: "I'm so impressed that you have my telephone number somewhere other than the computer!"
Fran: "Well, I looked it up on the phone book."
That cracked me up. I don't even have a phone book. Ever since I got my new monitor with the telescoping stand, I don't need it to hike up the monitor to the right level so I tossed it. Plus, honestly, the phone book would have never occurred to me as an option for finding a phone number. Sad, but true. (I am lucky enough to have my Treo should the computer decide to take a vacation...)

Nice walk this morning - chilly and nice. As soon as I add a book to my book review data base and fix a couple of web pages on my website, I'm going to start on the first room in the Plan o' Cleaning. Unless it's nearly time to go to Fran's then I might wait.

Date: 2004-02-11 08:48 am (UTC)We get three different ones a year: QwestDex, Verizon and GTE. They're like fruitcakes -- someone leaves them at my door, no one wants to (cough) recycle them, and they just take up valuable space where my cook books would be.
