Jim is one of my non-LJ blogging friends and this morning he left a comment about my not having a phone book and how he is bombarded with them. The joys of condo living. QuestDex/Verizon/etc. can't get into the building! They have to ask permission to leave their ton o' books here. They are given a space in the garage to stack them and they must come pick up any unclaimed ones - as well as any recycled from last year - within 7 to 10 days or they will not be allowed to deliver any more. It's a wonderful benefit of roof sharing.

I started a new blanket on Sunday and last night - about 5 inches into it - I decided I didn't like the pattern enough to go for 55 more inches so I ripped it out and started a new one. So there.

Today's lunch is with Susan from my old office. It's $5 burger Wednesday and get caught up on the office skippy time! Wahoo! I just got an email from her and she says she's been looking forward to this all week.

I've been walking now since early last Fall and the routes really don't change much. Now that I'm walking every day, I'm worried that I will get bored and/or will run out of stuff to take pictures of. But, this morning I had no problem with either. I did decide not to make week days a long haul. Down to Krispy Kreme and back if I go South and up to the aquarium and back if I go north. I think each route is about a mile and a half or 2 miles round trip and takes me about 45 minutes depending on how many pictures I need to stop and take. It's good.

But, today the sun was out and bright and that's not so good. I need a sun hat. I think I have one. I just need to find it.

I'm a little worried about Jake. I can't even put my finger on what's wrong enough to consider going to the vet. He is old. He'll be 16 this October. But, he just doesn't seem quite himself. Could be that my being home all the time has changed some of his behavior and/or I am spending more time observing him.

For the past two mornings, he and Betty have taken to napping on the edge of the couch by the window. They aren't touching each other but they are perilously close to it. Here, I'll snap a shot.

Admittedly, I don't walk every day, but at least several times a week. I've been doing it regularly for three years and I don't get bored. In the park, of course, everything constantly changes with the seasons: things emerging, flowering, changing colour and freezing over. As time goes on, I find I like the familiarity rather than growing bored with it, and I start to see things that were there all along but I didn't notice before.

Cute kitty picture.
