This morning in my 39 minutes of walking I was reminded again of how much I love Seattle.  I've now lived here for nearly 16 years.  It is by far the longest I have ever lived in any one town (I started to say zip code but then remembered that the first 6 places I lived didn't have zip codes cause they hadn't been invented yet).  I fell in love with it the day I first saw it which was also the day I moved here.  And I'm still in love today.

It's beautiful.  I love seeing snow capped mountains.  When I stand at the front door to my little branch library on Beacon Hill I can look east and see snow capped mountains, turn on my heel and look west and see snow capped mountains all year round.  From much of this neighborhood, I can see giant boats - freighters and ferries and luxury cruise liners out in Elliot Bay.

There I love the Japanese grocery and the Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants that are short blocks away.  I even love that just east across the lake is a city that makes me feel like I am in downtown Atlanta with it's country club clad people and designer homes.  (I also love that it is across the lake and not here!)

I love the weather.  I was talking on the phone with my project manager yesterday and we were both expressing gratitude about Seattle weather.  She is from Minnesota.  She loves Seattle weather because our snow fall averages 5 flakes a year.  I love Seattle weather because the we have so few really really hot days and no humidity.

There is just so much that suits me about this place.  I cannot believe how lucky I am to have found it and arranged my life so I can stay here and just enjoy the heck out of it!
