susandennisThis day has so far just been one different or strange or stressful thing after another and it's only 2 p.m.! But, at least it's not hot.
I have a major website going live on August 2 - that would be next Thursday. The site is about 30% done. I'm waiting for direction/content/whatever and getting a little anxious as the days pass... Then, this morning I get an email saying that they are shooting for the site to be finished on the 13th and launched on the 15th and the client set up a bunch of status meetings so at least between now and then I'll know how stressed to get!
Then my co-worker, Tyler, comes back from vacation and finally I can give him all his own crap back only to learn that his grandmother died and he'll be gone all weekend and Monday and Tuesday.
And the new guy we hired is having issues. Hopefully they are just new guy issues and he's not as clueless, dependent and lame as he is presenting himself to be this week.
On the upside... the shop my brother owns is a franchise of Friendly Computers. Friendly Computers has a nice little monthly newsletter and every month they give away a laptop to someone and some thumbdrives. I think they do a drawing from subscribers but I don't know for sure. Anyway, the newsletter lists the winners every month. Today's newsletter says a woman from Texas won the laptop so I popped him a note and asked if she was one of his customers. Turns out not only is she one of his customers but a really nice one. He says they've fixed a couple of her family's computers and done about $600 worth of business with her enjoyed her customership. He was trying to get her on the phone to congratulate her. What a fun thing for him.
This stock market downturn is as not funny as the Mariners losing streak. Who the fuck did I piss off and would you please tell them I'm sorry????
