Day 143 - 2

I really earned my star today and a big one, too. 

I got there about 4 minutes after 9 and this time Nathan (cute little reception guy) was already there looking bored.  There was not another soul in the joint!  He said he had no clue where the regulars were.  Blamed it on the expected traffic from the Mariners game.

I got onto the treadmill and started it up and then thought, heck, since I have the place to myself and unlimited time to play, this would be great time to try some of the other stuff.  So I got onto the stair stepping machine.  I got it going and felt like I knew what I was doing and did it for about 3 minutes before I figured that was too freakin' hard.  So I got onto the elliptical machine.  Got it going and felt like I knew what I was doing but again... 3 mins yikes, my ankles and calves were killing me. 

So it was back to the treadmill, happy now that my curiosity was satisfied.  I did 20 minutes there and then 12 minutes on the bike and then another 8 minutes on the rowing machine!!!  Whew. 

Meanwhile the crowd filled in.  One of the giant black guys (giant like Refrigerator Perry giant) was there.  He needs to smile more.  And the Gym Queen was there and finally even the Long Gray Beard/Long Gray Hair guy came in for his bike ride. 

And... there was a little bonus of excitement as well.  When I was on the rowing machine Nathan came back into the machine room saying the fire alarm lights were going off and indeed, about half of them were.  No sounds, but blinking lights but only half of them.  When I was leaving Nathan was trying to figure out what was the good thing to do.  Finally I suggested he call Tija and he did and she told him to call 911.  The fire station is a block from here but I haven't heard sirens yet. 

Hope the joint is there tomorrow!!
