Finally, a respite
Aug. 16th, 2007 09:04 amToday and tomorrow, my big project is being poked and prodded and checked and rechecked. So I am very nearly footloose and fancy free. For the past 3 weeks I have averaged - averaged - 8.5 billable hours a day for 21 days straight. My last paycheck was healthy. But this one is going to be able to bench press for large guys. And the work is good and the client is happy and it is ahead of schedule even with some serious obstacles I had to work around. So I'm happy about the whole thing.
But, now I have to remember what my regular life is like. There is cleanup. The bathrooms. The kitchen. The shelves have so much dust on them that you could leave telephone messages there with your finger. I want to clean out the cupboards on the terrace and get rid of 85% of that junk. I need to reinstate the part of my website that got lost and then found. And I need to clean out one of my USB external drives so I can use it to back up the desktop.
However, today, I'm going to just futz around. I need mayonnaise and hair conditioner so there may be some errand running. If I feel like it.

Clearwire ended up refunding every single penny on time without prompting. Now if they could get their customer service up to the same efficiency level as their disconnection service, they might get to keep more customers!!
