The Tree That I Hate
Aug. 16th, 2007 04:04 pmOutside my terrace - just outside - is a very very ugly dirty tree that is a cousin of the sycamore - personally I call it a suckamore. It sheds something gross and would only be attractive if seen from a far far far distance.
PLUS it blocks my view. Nearly totally. That's why it is The Tree That I Hate.
I heard once that you can kill a tree by nailing copper nails into the trunk. I can tell you that this is a lie.
Ann (neighbor) was in just now to catch up... She and her husband owned a dress/gift shop in town for years and years. Earlier this year they closed the shop and retired. So I see her way way way more than I used to. I love having her around because she knows shit. And she shares. Today I learned that she's about to start a 6 year stint on the Pioneer Square Historical Board. This is big. She will really know shit now.
And... she said she would find out why we have to keep The Tree That I Hate. She also said that when they lived in the burbs, they once had a tree that was killed by caterpillars in about two weeks. I gotta find out how to hire me some caterpillars. Caterpillars who won't talk.
