It's funny how when you work on your own all day long every day and can, essentially, manage your time as you like, how delightful a day off can be.  I would think that it would not even matter.  But it does.  My buddy, Tyler, is lined up to take most of my work.  I'm answering email but have told every one that I am only incidentally available.  It's nice.

I have the luxury of procrastination.  I'm doing that now.  Gathering myself for the first adventure.  Seattle has a great underground bus system.  I can walk up here 3 blocks and go down into a tunnel, hop on a bus and come out of the tunnel right smack in the middle of downtown.  It's like my own private magic carpet.

That tunnel has been closed for two years.  It's been two long years.  Yes, there are street buses but you have to know or guess which ones are going straight downtown or you'll get on one and end up in the middle of some suburb.  And there are three different corners to catch one of them on - you also have to guess which corner.  It's not fun.

The tunnel is easy and it opened again on Monday and I'm sooooooo glad to have it back!

So I'm going to go downtown.  I have four things on my list.  Then back home for my home list.  One thing I am hoping to do one of these two days is fix my old desktop.  It's acting out.  I think it's bitter about being replaced.  I think I'm just going to do an OS reinstall.  IF I can figure out which XP license belongs to it and find the right CD.

Now I think I'll just get my stuff together, put on my walking shoes and get going...

later...
