The closet is done and I am proud. I had a huge stack of stuff to toss. And a similar stack of stuff for the Goodwill. Nothing for the downstairs storage (a sure sign of success). Everything else went right back in, nice and tidy and neat.
Do you suppose that I really honestly need 6 cans of butane gas? I used to have cigarette lighters, a couple of curling irons and a fireplace starter that all used butane. I do not think I have one of those now. But, just in case, I kept one can.
Oh and it turned out there were only 5 keyboards in that closet. I kept two of the least filthy ergonomic ones and the rest are off to Goodwill.
And I finally tossed out the fur coat. Years ago - mid 80's probably - I bought it on the lower east side of Manhattan. It was hanging outside a stall. It was $40. It was warm and it was February. It was also before animal rights people turned into terrorists. It was a fake black mink. And a darned good fake. It was heaven when I was in Minnesota. Later when I got to Northern California, I wore it twice in San Francisco. The first time I got attacked, I thought it was a fluke - it's FAKE, people!!! The ketchup will just wash off!! The second time, I realized that a lot of the animal rights terrorists are also protecting those polys who gave up their fur for my coat so I put it into the closet. It's too dressy for Seattle but I just haven't been able to let it go until now. Hopefully someone at Goodwill will find it a good home.
Then I went to meet my friend Bryan for lunch. Bryan is a fun and wonderful guy that I first met at startup #1. He was the receptionist/MBA student. He got degree in some high falutin' finance thing and went to work for Texaco. Then about a year later, Microsoft head hunted away and now he buys and sells currency for Microsoft. He hobnobs with the rich and famous. But, he's still my bud. He looked tired but I think he's happy doing what he's doing.
And he has a website (a think tank-ish group he started) that needs my help. So I may even pick up a few bucks and have some fun doing it.
Now I am home watching it rain a little and then stop and blow and then rain a little more and then stop and blow. I've already brought my whirling disk off the terrace for fear it would blow away. I brought the telescope in, too, but took it back out again when the wind stopped. But now it's winding again so I guess I'll go out and get it.
I got my first unemployment check today. Sweet.
I want to get my hair cut. Not short but it needs shape. However, since I am poor, the above paragraph notwithstanding, I think I'll wait until I have people to impress before I spend the $$ for a haircut.
I think it's time now for a little bit of TV avec Knit.
