Back again
Feb. 27th, 2004 11:59 amWhat a great walk. Downtown Seattle just rocks. It is so alive and so full of wonderful stuff. I forget about how great it is. Maybe I need to concentrate on finding me a gig downtown... hmmmm
I stopped into Barnes and Noble to check out the You Are SO Cursed! situation. What a different experience than yesterday! Just as I got to the section I thought was right, a really nice young woman stopped me and asked if she could help. I said "I'm looking for the young adult section, is this is?" and she said it was an asked what I was looking for. I told her and she couldn't find it on the shelf so she went to the computer. The computer was giving her trouble and she said she would go to the front computers. I told her not to bother - that I could sure do that but she insisted.
She came back in a bit to say that the computer labeled it Teen.. which, as it turns out, is an upgrade from young adult... (who knew?). But it wasn't in the teen section either. She said she would check the back and I told her not to worry, that I would come back another day. She insisted. I let her because as it happened she looked like she was the older sister of the girl on the cover.
Sure enough, she came back with a stack in her hand and the first thing out of her mouth was "Cool cover!!" She handed me a copy and immediately put the rest on the shelf and faced it out!!! She's my hero.
Borders doesn't have it yet and from what I could gather from the guy who is likely a close relative of the sales clerk from yesterday, they might or might not get it in but he can have it for me in a few days...
But all in all the trip downtown was excellent. I got some good pix but I need to learn to hold that damn thing still. The focus on it isn't that good anyway and I don't need to make it blurrier! ![]()
Now it is time for General Tso's Chicken. If you need me, I'll be across at the deli and then home at the couch/table munching...
