Gym Report - cardio
Mar. 7th, 2008 08:53 amWhat an excellent excellent treadmill workout this morning! Yesterday afternoon and last night I had some really painful digestion issues. I had a healing sleep last night and felt way much better this morning but still had a lot of hurt left on one side - just above my butt cheek below my waist. I toyed with blowing off the gym and I'm not quite sure why I didn't. But I didn't.
I was about 10 minutes into a nice, gently, hands free walk when Rosie happened by and started grilling me on my treadmill ways. She suggested I try walking backwards as a cooling off. WTF? She says it helps hamstrings and balance. Ok. Then she suggested I try some sprinting. Crank up the treadmill as fast as I can stand it until I am just about to fall off and then crank it back down as slowly as I can stand it and then do it again in 5 or so minutes.
FABULOUS! It was great. I ended up going faster than I normally would on average and the sprinting deal broke up the monotony. These treadmills give you 2 cool down minutes after you finish. So when I was done, I cranked the speed way down (to like .5) and tried the backwards thing. It was very hard at first but it got very better and I think I can probably do it faster soon.
On the way home I discovered that my very sore upper butt cheek was not nearly as sore if at all. I am so glad I went.
