For the past 6 years I have worked at places where the restroom doors were side by side. Women on the right and Men on the left. Here in my new building, the restroom doors are side by side. Women on the left and Men on the right.

It is only 8:30 and twice today - plus several times yesterday - I have come perilously close to charging right into the mens' room. It's going to happen. I just don't know when. You have been warned.

p.s. [livejournal.com profile] ruralrob, Hopefully, when it does happen, I'll have my camera with me and I can continue the documented urinal research for you.

I had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM at my office in Phoenix. It drove me nuts.

Men are generally much less concerned about finding a woman in their rest room, I was in Fry's the other day when one of the female staff just walked in and started checking the place over.

I was in a club in Manchester NH once and when the line was too long for the ladies room they just started overflowing into the mens room. At 23 that was a real surprise to me, so perhaps it's just that I've become hardened with age :-)

Oh, I wouldn't worry about it too much. The building next door - where the cafeteria is - is identical to the one I work in, except that the restroom door layout is reversed. You'd think they could keep it the same between buildings... but no!

Who knew going to the bathroom could be so exciting?

the knitting convention in Oakland, they "converted" a mens room to another women's restroom. Via a sign. The 8 men at the convention
had to go to another floor. But one was confused. And some women were confused, too.

Also I had a boss who changed into his workout clothes, worked out and came back to find he had changed in the women's locker room. When he got back, there were women in there. And then he had to convince them that 1) he wasn't a pervert and 2) to get his clothes for him.
