One creature is stirring
Mar. 24th, 2008 09:27 amTravis is having a morning. He's acting like the kid who's best friend has gone on vacation with his family. He's got no one to play with so he's bouncing around from here to there bugging me, bugging Betty, chasing his mouse, chasing his octopus, pouncing on the blanket. He's winding down a bit now but it has been a busy morning. About an hour ago, I caught him in the hallway with my contact lens case in his mouth.
Otherwise, it's a slow Easter Monday here. When I was growing up in North Carolina, Easter Monday was a BFD. It was a day of tea dances for the adults and parties for children. It was a state holiday and one of the best all year. I thought it was the same everywhere. When I got to college (near Pittsburgh) one of the very many culture shocks was that the Monday after Easter was as full of fun as the Monday after Halloween or any random Sunday. That was a bummer that sticks even now 40 years later.
I watched so many news stories about Peeps this weekend that the next Teddy Bear just had to be peeps yellow. I see this morning that when I tossed him into the basket last night, he kind of ended up a little hung over looking. Probably he's happy for a quiet Easter Monday.
