Help! Fashion Question

Those neck scarves made out of eyelash yarn have just come to Charleston - or to my Mom's attention - they probably have been hot in Charleston for ages. Anyway, she said that she didn't think anyone would wear them and I allowed as how her three teenaged granddaughters would probably kill for one so now she's totally focused.

The question she needs an answer to ("but, no hurry, I don't need to know until I get back from dinner" her note just now says...) is: What's the preferred length? Wrap around the neck or hang from the neck?

(Eyelash yarn makes a neck scarf that kind of looks like a knitted feather boa but not quite as sticky outy. Check any female from the age of 13-35 and you'll find one - at least in Seattle.)

So... long or short or does it matter?

The ones I have seen (and want) are long enough to wrap around the neck once and then hang down the front. About long enough to go past the boobs--maybe mid stomach.

I like em! If you decided to make them I would buy one!

Thanks! That helps! I'm not making any... I've got afghans that need to get made. But, if you are really interested in having one made, I'll bet you could find a volunteer over in the knitting community!

My sister knits too. I totally forgot about that until this morning. I should see if she would make one. They are also most excellent cat teasers. Not really toys because I don't want their claws in it, but nothing like a fuzzy scarf trailing accross the floor like some bizarre creature for a cat to attack. :)

I don't think you can go wrong, but I vote strictly for wrap. It's one of those you want to wear your accessories, not let your accessoris wear you things I'm oh so passionate about. I just think eyelash yarn is so ornate that a hanging scarf could be too much of a good thing.
