Poor Travis...  He's clearly not feeling top drawer.   I think it's just a cold.  I googled about cats and colds and several places suggested securing him in the bathroom while you shower might help him feel better...   Not a problem for him.  Even not feeling chipper, he did not skip the shower this morning. He was at his post on the side of the tub in between the shower curtain and the liner.  I do hope he feels better soon but I have to say that having the keyboard to myself for a couple of days is kind of nice.

He is also well enough to be back on bird watch with Betty today.  In the Spring, we get little loud birds on The Tree That I Hate and it's driving both cats nuts.   Yesterday some of the birds flew onto the terrace and they could not stand it.  Today, the birds are just flying around the tree and both cats are on point.

I have the oddest callous on my finger.  It's on my right hand, index finger, palm side in that first section just after the palm.  I finally fingured out that it is from knitting!  About two months ago, I got an upgrade to my favorite knitting needles.  And the new ones hit my finger in just this place a lot during the teddy bear making process.  I did not notice it at all until I started tracking to find out how I got this callous.  Wild.

It reminds me of when we were teenagers and my sister took up the guitar.  She didn't really care for the music - she liked motown.  She didn't really even know the songs.  All she wanted was the callouses from the fret work.  She'd hold her hand out and pronounce that she was a gutarist.

So if I stick my finger in your face, please know that I am a knitter.

I love my cellphone.  It's a Kyocera Cyclops and it does just what I want it to do and my Virgin Mobile service is cheap.  BUT, I"ve been having the worst time with battery life as in not getting any.  I have two batteries for it.  The regular and an OEM.  They were both dying often.  I'm supposed to get something like 5 days of standby and I was getting like 5 hours.  It was making me nuts.  Until I cracked the code.

Every other day, I use the timer function to ensure the special shampoo stays on my head 5 minutes.  Apparently, there is some kind of glitch in the timer function that prevents it from putting the phone back in standby when I'm done.  Just closing the phone usually does it but not with the timer.  Once I figured that out, I'm back to wonderful battery life.  I know this because I am now on day 4 of my test.  Sweet.
