Tomorrow will be here soon enough
Apr. 9th, 2008 11:57 amToday is full of challenges. I have to go into the office for a meeting. I really really really do not want to participate in this meeting or go into anywhere. And, I have no car. The boss said take a cab. Cabs in Seattle are iffy on a good day.
However, I just called one of the companies and got an extremely efficient and knowledgeable and nice dispatcher who knew right where the office was (an obscure address in a confusing neighborhood) and said it would take 20 minutes but I should allow 30 (which is exactly right) and she'd have a cab at my front door at 1. So I'm feeling better about that bit anyway.
For the meeting itself, I think I'll just focus on the fact that it will not be physically painful (I hope) and should be over before dark (again, hoping).

Monday I called to switch my newspaper subscription. Tuesday I got no paper. I called and they said they would fix it for today's delivery. Today I got the wrong paper. I called. They have the subscription correct. So I asked Scott - the building manager - if, by any chance, both papers were delivered by the same person... Yep! Dude's been delivering the PI here for years - he probably thought the office made a mistake! Now I have a big ole' note to put on my front door tonight that says "Dear Newspaper Carrier..." Here's hoping...!

I'm having an apple, salami bits and swiss cheese slices for lunch and it's pretty darned delicious. OOOPs!! my new modem is showing as 'Delivered' - gotta go down and get it.
