susandennisTravis and I have now wired up everything. It's so nice of him to help. There was a lot of wire and cable pulling and rearranging and moving and a little bit of panic when I thought I dropped a critical phone wire down the back of the desk never to be recovered again. But I didn't and all was saved.
While under the desk, I also culled out everything not in use - one not-very-good Western Digital pocket drive, several USB cables, 2 power strips - one octopus and one regular, one wireless adapter. Then I went through a box o' stuff in the storage closet and moved most of it to the Goodwill bag and put the stuff from under the desk into the box.
The new modem is attractive so I could stand to have it on top of the desk rather than under it. I like to keep an eye on the lights.
I'm feeling quite organized. It's so much easier when you have a cat helping you. Well, not sooo much...
