Meshing nicely

susandennisSo, as soon as I got a workable plan in my head for managing shared stuff on my computers, Microsoft comes along with this Mesh deal which is exactly what I need. Exactly. But, it's a beta and you have to sign up and they will let you know. Ok. So I go ahead and start my home grown implementation.
And then, this afternoon I got an invitation to Mesh (I requested it this morning so I was not expecting it so soon). So I signed up and got it going and so far, I have to say I am impressed.
I have always resisted anything that required me to log in with my Live ID. No particular reason except I have a bad taste in my mouth since early Hotmail. And this requires it but the return you get is well worth it.
It's simple and easy and just perfect. I'm forever finding a cool new wallpaper on my bedroom computer that I want on one in the living room. Emailing is silly. Popping it into a desktop folder is just what I want to do. With Mesh, I pop it into the folder on the bedroom computer and zappo! it's in the folder on the desktop of the computer that wants it!
Ditto with links and docs and books and pictures and music. From one to the other to the other.
I likey. So far. There could be fatal flaw I haven't found yet, but until I find it, I'm happy. And it does not have a stupid name. Mesh - I can remember it and spell it. Two biggies in my world.
