I've been reading [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu's journal for years now. Lots of years. A couple of winter's ago, I met him face to face once and briefly but he's such a prolific journaler that I have, for a long time, felt I knew him and his world well. He's always written about his friend, Barbara, and posted tons of photos of her so I knew her too. But yesterday was the first time I'd every sat down across from him and chatted and the first time I'd met Barbara. Still, it was kind of like getting together with old friends that you are in contact with a lot but just don't get together with that often. It was fun and comfortable and fun.

The train trip was also fun. We live in such a beautiful part of the country. We saw snow capped mountains and small ponds and green hills and trees and marsh - in just a short ride to Tacoma and back. It was very cool. On the way down, we were part of the commuting throngs. (While it was great fun for a lark, it would suck for a daily do. Plus, be expensive.) But on the way back, we had the train pretty much to ourselves.

Matthew (aka [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu) took great pictures of the train, us, my house and Travis and Betty. He has his camera set so that when he takes a shot there is no click, no noise, no indication that you can now remove your camera face. It is so wrong. And mean. But I get the distinct impression that he enjoys this stealth attack. It's still wrong.

And, it's most especially annoying when, in his journal, he writes 'click for the pictures'. Click my ass.

Ok, I have issues.
