When I first moved here (1992), I spent nearly every spare waking moment crawling all over this town. My job was true 9-5 after years and years of ones that were nearly 24/7 so I reveled in the new free time and the new city.

J.A. Jance wrote a mystery series that featured a Seattle cop and every book involved a murder in a different neighborhood. Jance would explain the history and flavor the neighborhood. I would read the book during the week and then get on a bus and find that neighborhood and explore myself. It was wonderful.

My friend, John, had lived in Seattle in the 70's and loved it. So when he came to town to visit, we'd explore even more nooks and crannies. He was as into the adventure as I was.

I so fell in love with this town. And I still love it today. I love it for all that it has to offer. Even though, these days, I rarely take advantage of much of it. It's the kind of town that if I were visiting I would think - over and over again - 'gee, I sure wish I lived here so I could go there or do that any time i wanted'. I don't go there and do that much but once in a while I do.

And tomorrow evening is one of those once in a while's. I keep wanting to go see this store - Velocity - and now they have a monthly lab thing. NotMartha describes tomorrow's and I'm just going to go!

It's on the opposite end of downtown from me and during rush hour so I'm going to bus it. My project manager for The Big Project says she thinks she can hang on without me. I'm jazzed.
