What a nice, quiet, relief
Jun. 25th, 2008 10:04 amWork dribbled in a little here and a little there until early evening yesterday. I did it as it came in and was caught up when I went to bed. Today, so far... nothing. Even my weekly 10 am conf call was canceled. And now that Roomba has finished for the day, it is wonderfully quiet. Hot, but quiet. Yesterday afternoon it really cooled off so much in here that I did not pull out the air conditioner. It would be nice to have a blast of that right now.
Today, as soon as the sun has left the terrace (where the closet that houses the air conditioner is), it's going to be roll out time. June 25. Not too bad. Better than the years I had to set it up in May.

djmrswhite had a great LJ entry today about googling kids from school days. In his case he made a great find. Several years ago, I tried without success to find a fun friend from my past. So after reading his entry today, I tried again and I think I may have found her!! I found a pdf from East Carolina University that had her name followed by what could be her married name. I followed that and found a photo from a newspaper in Florida from last year when this woman and her friend started a website. I can't be 100% positive but it sure could be her. The only email I can find is to the webmaster of the site. I sent. We'll see.

danlmarmot - as you consider various home office options... It's one of
unzeugmatic's wonderful post cards. It arrived last week in the middle of my frenzy and it made my day.

Now I'm just doing all those things that I have not had time to do recently:
- I've gone through that stack of torn out newspaper/magazine references to books that look interesting and put them on my goodreads lists.
- I finally closed down my website that housed my access database pages - since they have all been replaced by goodreads.
- I moved that domain over to piggy back on another one and switched the dns servers (didn't that used to take like 48-72 hours to click in?? today it barely took 48 seconds!)
- Microsoft Money is all up to date and reconciled
- The plants all have water now.
