Sunday morning rituals...
Jul. 20th, 2008 11:02 amI do love my Sunday mornings...
I sleep late and snuggle with one or more cats while NPR wakes me up and then I get my coffee and my big fat newspaper and get back into bed.
I separate out the paper - ads in one pile, sections separated in another, the tv section, Parade and Sunday magazine in the third. I start with the ads and go through the ones I'm interested in. I look at the coupons, no so much for the coupons but more to see what new products are out there. Then Target and sometimes the officesupply treo - Max, Staples and Depot. I read the TV section and then I start with the front page and end with the last page of the travel section. Parade and the Sunday magazine get saved to read with lunch and dinner.
Then off to the gym. Then home to the shower. Then it's computer backup time. I read somewhere last week a rumor about a Gmail offline client. That would be nice. Gmail has been unavailable enough times to make me twitchy at being so dependent. So I download a copy of all emails to Outlook. I can't back those up with the program open so I close it, and then run my backup. I alternate databases every week. It's true overkill as there is rarely anything I need or want and gmail never goes down but especially after last week's bruhaha with the work computer, it just makes me feel better. When the backup is done, I fire up Outlook again.
Then I move over to TiVo and enjoy some CBS Sunday Morning and by the time that is done, it's time for the ballgame. I have no work work to do today and while I don't mind working on Sundays, it's nice to have one with zero responsibilities.
I love Sunday mornings.
