Dental Saga - Chapter 2
Jul. 28th, 2008 10:28 amI did it. I called. Still trying to focus on the positive, I love that my dentist office is sharp. I gave my first name and last name and she asked me where the pain was and I described it and she said, very quickly, "oh, I'll bet it's where that crown is going to go".
I totally forgot that lo those many years ago (like four or five), when I did the sedation thing and he cleaned and fixed a bunch of stuff, he did the pre-crown stuff on several teeth and said that we'd watch them. I did see him after that visit and he was surprised at how well his work had held up. He offered me the option of just living with everything the way it was or getting more work done. Guess which door I picked??
I do remember that he was not rock solid on my teeth being strong enough to tolerate crowns AND crowns necessitate multiple visits. My goal is to minimize the one visit, not ask for more.
The woman who answered the phone was nice and efficient and sympathetic and did not waste my time. My dentist isn't in today. She apologized about not being able to work me in tomorrow and I assured her that my situation was not dire and Wednesday was fine. 1:30. I think I can deal with that. I'm pretty sure I can.
I am grateful for having a dentist that I know and like as much as I could possibly like any torturer.
