The Mariners are, right now, proving there are many many creative ways to lose a ballgame. Lately they have been losing in the late innings. Today, they decided to go ahead and start losing early - in the 2nd. We're now in the 5th and they have been able to maintain their losing and make it look easy. 8-0 right now. Sigh.

The temperature has dropped nearly 10 degrees in the last couple of hours. LOVE IT! It's lovely out now. Whew.

I've been doing little stuff here and there. Working on bills and budget... When the paycheck is slim, spending takes planning. Once when I was in my 20's, I had next to no money to live on for a couple of years. I learned a whole lot of tricks for living on no money. It was a very valuable lesson. Of course, being entirely on my own with no one helping me spend and not having to spend for anyone but me, helps a lot. But, I can trim back severely quickly and easily when necessary.
One thing I do is keep a When I Get Some Cash shopping list. Things on the list are not critical but just things that I'd like to have when I get some spare coin. The list is usually small-ish stuff. Stuff that I have the cash to buy now but think it would be smarter to hold off in case some emergency needs that same cash. Today's list includes reupping my People subscription, a new coffee pot, a new electric broom.
I think when you live by yourself and are dependent on yourself alone, you have a tendency to microscope anything that might infringe on that - like finances and health.

While waiting for the 5th Season of The Wire on DVD, I started watching a Canadian series called Intelligence. Only after I'm sucked in do I realize that it was cancelled after 2 seasons and the 2nd season isn't even on DVD.

The Mariners have now hit 3 home runs and in the 6th the game is now 9-4. Maybe I'll actually watch the rest.
