God's car wash
Aug. 18th, 2008 09:56 amMy Dad was the car washer. He made sure all cars he ever owned were always pristine. After he died, my Mom's car got washed only when my brother came to visit. She had covered parking and every time it rained really good and hard, she would say "I should go move the car outside and let God wash it."
Today, due to the garage painting, my car is outside and it is raining. Thankyougod.
I thought it had to be moved by 9 and so, since it was Monday and my gym day off, at 8 I was cheerfully reading my LJ pages in bed with Travis when the phone rang. It was Scott, the building manager, very kindly asking me to move my car... Ooops. Happily, I was not the only derelict and when I moved mine two cars were even still down there. I am sorry I was his early morning headache but I'm happy that I got to share the blame!
It's not raining really hard or even much but I'm happy for even the little bit and the non-sun and the relative cool. My terrace thermometer says it's 69 degrees. That is in definately PERFECT range on the susandennis acceptable temperature guage.
Ha! Just saw a Tweet from
cinenaut (who is, I'm guessing, in his office about a mile from here) who says: "Ugh, dark and stormy skies. It's August, bring back the sun!"
Glass half empty/full weather version.
