I'm more and more fascinated by Twitter. I've had my account now for several years but only in the past few months has it turned into a really viable and fun tool.

I unfollowed a local news hound this morning over Project Runway. She twittered the results nearly immediately and then was slapped all over for it. I was not happy about getting the results before watching the show. But what made me drop her was her attitude about it. Her take was along the lines of if you don't watch it live, put yourself in a news blackout. Including Twitter? No thank you. I don't need Twitter 'Tude.

On the other side of the coin, however, is our own County Executive (read CEO of County) - Ron Sims not only uses Twitter but he uses it BEAUTIFULLY. http://twitter.com/ronsims. I never really had many thoughts about him. He never seemed to do anything horrible or anything wonderful but now that I get a tiny peek into his world, I'm more and more impressed. Very cool.

And speaking of Seattle cool, this weekend we are celebrating 10 years of
Libraries for All
. 10 years ago the city started a program to add, fix, move, update and generally take a good library system to world class. The project is done and done so well. I have not been to each of the 27 libraries but I have at least seen a good half of them and they are beautiful and different for each neighborhood and distinct and just wonderful.

My own library (Beacon Hill) is an architectural gem. The views inside and out, the feeling, the size and layout, everything about it is perfect. I may well go to the reception this Sunday just so I can shake the hand of the creators and thank them.
