I bought a new battery for my Lifebook. My old one is getting some age on it and I did not treat it well in its youth. I rarely unplugged it and let the battery get some legs. Still, when I unplug now, it boasts of 4 hours so it's not terrible, but come the big one, I want hours of computing...

So, new battery. Now I'm burning it in. The site where I bought it recommended that I use it heavily at the start. Drain it all, charge it, drain it, charge it. So, that's what I'm doing. Lot of fun watching a battery drain. I'm happy to say that it is taking a while. I need to remember to time how long it takes to charge.

My lunch trailer has two bullets of great news... On the menu this week... Fried Chicken!! now, if anyone can fry chicken Mr. Skillet Street Food can. I can't wait. And they have online ordering! You place your order, charge it and then send an email with the confirmation number and tell them what day and when you will pick it up. No waiting!! Heaven. Tomorrow, 11:45. Hear me crunch.

Work is slow (probably long time readers can tell by volume of LJ entries alone)... but, there is stuff coming down the wires this afternoon or tomorrow so no biggie. I have a $1,800 real estate tax bill due in October and a probably $6,000 home owners bill due in January. The tax bill money is already set aside just waiting to be paid. The homeowners bill takes some planning. It's actually a monthly bill and I get nothing off for paying annually but I just love not having to deal with it except once a year. I can use my rainy day money to pay it if need be but I'd rather stash cash ahead and use that. So I'm stockpiling. At my current course in speed (billing hours after regular monthly bills paid), I figure to have stash topped off with enough by the middle of November. A run of lots of work could push that up nicely but if not, I'm cool.

Even with all the tools provided on the internet and as my mother used to say 'all the advantages of a private eduction', I still fuck up the timing of my friend, Scott's birthday. I know it's on the 16th of September but he's a Kiwi in Wellington and I always miss it by one day. What's even worse is that I never just overshoot or undershoot. It's about 50/50 which wrong way I go. It's so pitiful.
