And the new modem is a winner
Sep. 24th, 2008 11:43 amFedEx got here exceedingly early today with my replacement modem and it is a winner. I had a couple of little hiccups installing the software on both machines and a few more hiccups getting it to work in my work laptop but after not a whole lot of twiddling, it worked. Just fine and dandy!
I even had a chance to VPN to work stuff and while the speed is not optimal, it is workable in a pinch and so way better than dialup! I am quite happy.
Two more issues to noodle out...
1. How to get this feakin' lanyard into and out of those teensy weensy little holes. Not that I intend to wear it around my neck but I figure the long necklace tail will help ensure the tiny modem does not get lost.
2. Make sure the Sprint bill for the canceled account is canceled.
I sent the guys at 3GStore.com a note outlining the little glitches. I think I'm going to work on a new invention. I'm going to invent a magic wand that you can wave over the vendor of your choice and they will automagically provide the kind of service that 3GStore.com does.
But, meanwhile, I am now set for disaster. I have a spare computer battery and a go anywhere cell modem. Whew.
