Well, now, that's a happy surprise!
Oct. 10th, 2008 10:32 amOur county real estate tax bills come out in the first quarter of the year. Half is due at the end of April and half at the end of October. I've been logging onto the county website looking for the exact amount and what their electronic payment options are but it keeps saying I owe $0.
Finally today I called. It was not easy to get through but I persisted and got a very nice guy who cheerfully informed me that, in fact, I did owe $0 and that was because I paid the first half on April 14 and the second half 11 days later! Holy crapoly. How did I not notice that???
I'm delighted. Plus my neighbor, Ann, who's husband is on the finance committee says our homeowners dues are not going up next year. So, now my end of the year bills are looking way more doable. The biggies - my long term care insurance and the home owners dues (I pay for the whole year at once) are already in savings along with the car insurance.
So even though work is slow so paychecks are not big, I'm feeling quite a bit of fiscal relief here. Whew.
