A lovely way to start the day...
Oct. 13th, 2008 09:44 amApparently my knitted goldfish pattern is on a bit of a viral trip around the internets. I'm getting email thank you notes which is just nice. I swapped some email over the weekend with a woman in Ontario who was having trouble with one part of the pattern. I answered her questions and last night she sent me photos of her finished fish and she did a superb job.
It's all very satisfying. I think it was
legalmoose who first asked me for instructions or otherwise, I would have never even thought to write them up at all. I'm so glad I did. It makes me want to invent another knitted something sometime.

My foray into Other Public Radio stations continues. This morning, it was Chicago for a while. WBEZ. Their pledge drive starts next week so they are doing their pre-pledge begging now so I won't be going back there for awhile. Honestly, KCRW out of Santa Monica, CA is so far, hands down the best. But, I did make an interesting discovery this morning.
If I go to the KCRW website and click on listen, the experience is not nearly as good as if I go to Public Radio Fan website and click on it from there. Lesson learned.

While my investments over all are not doing as badly as many, the stocks that I bought on my own (without and sometimes in direct opposition to the advise of my financial advisor) have tanked. Down more than 50% last Friday over a year ago. However, right this minute they look like they are getting an IV of life juice. I know it's probably temporary and not nearly back up to lousy but it's nicer to see than what's I've seen recently.
Krispy Kreme sliding to under $2 a share is just sad.

Things that I would like to get done today:
- rip the two library books to mp3's
- fix the font on some of my personal web pages
- watch the Red Sox and the Phillies win (yeah, I know, 2 red teams but I can't get cozy with the other teams)
- pick up library holds and return the ones I have
- organize my yarn and add it into Ravelry
All of the above is only IF work is slow which, so far, it is.
