susandennisOn the news, on LJ, on my RSS feeds - news about North Carolina where they may well swing from red to blue.
The funny thing - to me - is that the North Carolina I remember had no Republicans at all! This was back before we took crayons to states. Everyone was a Democrat. Oh, there were the odd Republicans - and they were odd. My father was one but he did not say so out loud.
And then that fool from TV - Jesse Helms ran for a Senate seat. Oh how tres amusing!! Yeah, right, like that asshole could get enough votes to be dog catcher. We were all happy he was off TV and staring at no career at all.
And then...
