This is not the busiest day at work - not too bad, tho. I'm doing a little of this and a little of that while listening to the Mariner game. So far we are only losing by one run.

It's warm in this room (the lab) and my feet and ankles are really swollen. Last Summer, I was a little afraid that swollen feet and ankles were a sign of immenant disaster. Now I know that it's caused by heat and at least so far, any immenant disaster has been illusive. It's just all part of being fat, I guess.

When one makes a conscience choice to avoid medical care, one does need to understand that mysteries will abound. I've lived long enough now to accumulate a list of stuff that will not likely kill me at least today. If I have some terminal condition that is going to kill me in a week, a month or a year, that would be handy info to have, I think. But, I'm not willing to do what it takes to get the info so I live in mystery land. What will happen will happen and ankles swell.

One of the people who lives in my condo has organized a charity drive. The guy is generally really obnoxious but this time he's hit on a good thing. He's commandeered an area of the garage and for a week starting on Monday, you can put the stuff you don't want there. Not clothes or sports equipment but most anything else - furniture and household items. It will then all be picked up by an organization that helps the homeless get and furnish housing. I have some stuff that I've avoided taking to the Goodwill because, well, really, because I'm lazy. I think this will be a great excuse to clean out some shit. And I'm going to do it.

I'm in a debate with myself over a house cleaner. My house needs cleaning. I'm not qualified. But, I'm not really ready quite yet to spend the $$. I think I finally decided last night that as soon as I know about this current contract, I'll decide. If I find out that it's going to go past the end of June, I'll get serious about finding someone.

The real problem today is taco salad or turkey club for lunch. They are both on the menu and they are both favorites. Yesterday I went to another building's cafeteria - one of the 20+ here on the campus. The one in my building is small - perfectly adequate but small by comparison. As we were eating yesterday I looked up and saw the 'maximum capacity' sign... 891. That's just too big. It's crowded and noisy and I'm grateful for the nice little one we have here... I'm kind of leaning towards turkey club...

The M's are on and I'm missing it? Nuts! Looks like Franklin is having a decent game so far. Hm.

Bill Gates said in an interview once that he had been in every building in the Microsoft complex but it sounded like just barely, and that was years ago.

We need someone to clean out our Augean stables too, but I believe Hercules is no longer available.
